The article analyzes the role of the competence «orientation to development» as a key in the professional development of the future young specialist. The descriptive characteristics of the low and high level of «development orientation» are presented on the basis of a comparative analysis of two sample groups of students using the parametric t-student criterion. The necessity of further empirical research of transmissions as the most actual prospects of development of the labor market is considered.
